10 New Burgers Introduced to the Rockpool Bar Menu.
I always think of Rockpool Bar & Grill as a restaurant for special occasions so it’s awesome to see 10 burgers introduced to the bar menu at an accessible price. Neil Perry personally launched his Rockpool burger bar menu in Perth last week.
This is Rockpool’s NEW Burger Bar Menu which I tasted at Neil Perry’s media launch…
Neil Perry wanted to build on the success of his famous David Blackmore full blood wagyu burger so using it as his base, he kept his burger bar menu simple and created a Cheese, Bacon, Oz and Chilli version to choose from.
This is the David Blackmore Full Blood Wagyu Burger Cheese and Bacon served in a brioche bun…
Neil Perry also added Minderoo “Iron Fed” Beef Burgers to the menu as well as something for Vegetarians and chicken lovers.
The Minderoo “Iron Fed” Beef, Cheese & Bacon burger featured below is one of Neil Perry’s favourites and I can taste why…
The beef was much lighter in taste than the David Blackmore Full Blood Wagyu (even though the wagyu was still amazing) and the combination of onion, pickles, American cheese and Rockpool Bar & Grill’s secret BBQ sauce just worked. My burger eating half burger boy and I tend to go for the American style burgers so the Minderoo ‘Iron Fed’ Burger was the clear winner.
Plus it’s fantastic to see Rockpool Bar & Grill Perth support WA farmers. The Minderoo ‘Iron Fed’ Beef comes from Andrew and Nicola Forrest’s Minderoo Station near the Pilbara in North West Australia. The animals are all grass fed at Minderoo Station and no chemicals are used. Neil Perry tells us his love for Minderoo Beef all started one day when they “shot a cow, butchered it and had it for dinner”.
After eating one and a half burgers, I had to of course indulge in a few spoonfuls of every dessert on the table. How could I say no to Rockpool’s crème caramel, passionfruit pavlova, chocolate mousse, marshmallows, salted caramel toffees and caramel popcorn?
I have cravings for pavlova all the time so I have to say the passionfruit pavlova was my favourite dessert. It was so light and sweet, I felt like I could have eaten the whole slice to myself even after tasting 6 types of burgers!
Rockpool’s salted caramel toffees and caramel corn (recipe is on Rockpool’s blog) was a very close second favourite.
Rockpool Bar & Grill’s burger bar menu is exclusive to Perth. Buns are currently brioche but if there’s enough demand, gluten free buns may be introduced to the menu. For $18 – $21 I’d absolutely lunch at Rockpool when I’m craving burgers rather than waiting for a special occasion to pop up.
