Want to know how you can help raise money for charity while eating burgers?

RoyAl’s Chicken & Burgers needs no introduction to most burger lovers. It’s been a staple on the Perth burger scene for several years, ever since the opening of its first outlet in East Victoria Park. From day one, the team behind RoyAl’s has always taken a strong focus on community. They’re now taking that community focus to the next level with an ambitious goal of raising $100,000 for local charities this year.

The initiative has been named RoyAl’s Celebrity Burger. It all started with an idea put forward by G.Madison. The team absolutely loved the idea of being able to give back to the community in a fun manner and looped in prominent Perth TikToker, Seva Mozhaev, to bring a creative flair.

Each fortnight, the RoyAl’s team will be teaming up with a local celebrity to do a kitchen takeover of sorts. Each celebrity will work with RoyAl’s owner and director, Alasdair Craigie, to design their own burger combination which will be available on the menu for two weeks only. $10.00 from each burger will be donated to a local charity chosen by that celebrity.

Ken Craigie, owner and director of RoyAl’s told So Perth, “We’re experiencing tough times at the moment, and it’s only going to get tougher in terms of the cost of living, housing shortages and other price rises in Perth. In this situation, I believe the best thing to do is double down on our service to the community.

Celebrity Burger does this by raising awareness and funds for a charity that works directly with the community; as well as promoting a personal side to the celebrities who collaborate with us to create a burger.”

The burgers so far

RoyAl’s is three celebrity burgers into this initiative, resulting in some weird and wonderful creations.

The first burger off the ranks was the Che’iesta Burger from Malaysian Australian recording artist, Che’Nelle. Her chosen charity was Mettle Women — an organisation helping women experiencing homelessness due to domestic and family violence.

Renowned WA artist, Hans Bruechle, aka Handbrake Design followed with a desert-styled burger called the Handbrake Cherry-Bomb. Proceeds from this burger supported Youth Focus — a charity that promotes mental well-being among young people who suffer from depression, anxiety, and self-harm.

The third collaboration in the Celebrity Burger lineup was the Chick-For-Ray, created by Ray Tanielu. The burger’s proceeds were donated to the Swan City Youth Service, a centre that provides a home away from home for disadvantaged youth in the midland area.
