Get your sip on with some of the best wines of the Great Southern Region

Hi wine lovers – say hello to your new favourite WA wines from our very own Great Southern Region.

As certified wine enthusiasts ourselves having spent many hours in Perth’s best wine bars, we’ve gathered the best of the best (in our opinion) from one of our favourite wine regions for your next glass.

From deep Cab Sav to fresh Chardonnay or elegant Shiraz, whatever your pick- we’ve got you covered.

Castle Rock Estate

2021 A&W Riesling

This 2021 A&W Riesling is a testament to the quality of intensely flavourful blends coming from second-generation winemaker Rob Diletti.

Hand-harvested and whole bunch pressed then fermented with some solids and left on lees for 6 months, the slight savouriness of the wine is completed with citrus characters and powerful natural acidity. It’s an ideal aperitif wine for a refreshing palette cleanse.

2018 Wyjup Collection Shiraz

We absolutely love a sublime vintage, and these guys do a pretty decent job of it.

The 2018 Shiraz is filled with alluring aromas of dark, blue fruits with lifted raspberry, fragrant violets, red currants, graphite, complex spice and minerality for a richly layered and dense palate.

If you love a good Cab Sav then look no further.

Slightly juicy and full of sweet berry fruitiness, this gem is loaded with pretty blueberry fruits, lavender, cassis, bay leaf, and some violet spice. It’s powerful yet fresh, spicy yet subtle herby and one that will benefit from a good cellaring.

Swinney

2019 Swinney ‘Farvie’ Syrah

Given Shiraz is an iconic champion of the Great Southern it’s only fitting that we give this beauty a mention.

After an impressive 2018 vintage the bar was set high, but this 2019 Syrah steals the show. Tasting notes of bacon fat, maple, salted pomegranate, raspberry, graphite, red dirt, mulberry and pink peppercorn are present in an exceptional young Shiraz. It’s fragrant, medium weight and boasts silky yet sinewy tannins in a potent yet fresh style.
