One of Perth’s oldest and greatest venues is soon to become home to a brand new hospitality venue this month – meet The Rowing Pavilion.

Paying homage to the rich history oozing out of Mount Pleasant’s longstanding rowing sheds, the city’s newest riverside hospitality venue ‘The Pav’ is a vision from three masters of the hospo industry and will serve as a community hub for Perth’s south.

It’s perfectly positioned on grassy foreshore with uninterrupted views up and down the Canning and will receive a major glow-up refurbishment of striking contemporary designs by leading hotel and leisure venue designer Eva Sue, of architects Woods Bagot.

After a few million and an initial meeting with Rowing WA back in 2018, The Pav is nearly ready to open its doors and breathe some new life into the historic building.

“We’re committed to acknowledging the history of this iconic site,” said Partner and General Manager Mark Pearn, “hence the decision to call it The Rowing Pavilion. We are proud to call such an iconic location home.”

Little Creatures veteran Matt Rogers will be running the kitchen operations as Executive Chef, serving up a casual pub fare menu of Australiana with an Asian twist in share plates and a few stand-alone dishes, while an alliance with beer brand Balter Brewing will make up the majority of The Pav’s beers alongside a WA focused wine list and cocktails.

The Rowing Pavilion is hoping to follow suit with eastern states that have morphed iconic former sporting pavilions into brilliant hospitality venues, and they’re pretty confident they can do so.

Keep up with its transformation on their socials, and watch this space for an official opening date.
