How food and art combine at Eat Drink Perth

Perth’s biggest food festival is already more than halfway done for 2016, but there’s still plenty to see, do and munch on at Eat Drink Perth.

Bringing together the City’s best food connoisseurs, Eat Drink Perth is renowned for being the foodie event hub, but what many people fail to realise is the occasion also weaves a large number of arts events into mix.

Here is a list of art activities to not miss before the festival wraps up this month.

Presented at the world class State Theatre Centre Until April 17, the WA Premiere of the Australian classic Picnic at Hanging Rock is not to be missed.
Set in Australia in 1900, a group of school girls and their teachers venture out into the harsh landscape, unaware that soon four of them will disappear forever.
An investigation raises more questions than answers when one of the girls is found with no memory of what happened to her.
It quickly becomes clear that this is no textbook disappearance.
The production by the consistently high quality Black Swan State Theatre Company is directed by Matthew Lutton and features a cast of WA’s best actors.
Tickets for the 90-minute show begin at $32.50 and can be booked via Ticketek.
For further information and show times visit www.bsstc.com.au
For the duration of Eat Drink Perth (until April 16) show attendees can purchase a hamper package to enjoy a lovely picnic before the performance.
The hamper is prepared by Beaumonde Catering and includes gourmet sandwiches and delicate desserts.
