With his spectacles on right out of the pool, Mack Horton is an instant national hero, winning gold in the 400 meters freestyle final.
He defeats rival, China’s Sun Yang. The Clark Kent lookalike is in instant international hit.

2. Australia’s Golden Girls 4 x 100
The team of sisters Cate and Bronte Campbell, Emma McKeon and Brittany Elmslie smashed the world record in the pool, defeating the United States handily. Smashed them like guitars.
