One event encourages Perth women to come together to promote women’s entrepreneurship in Australia and developing countries around the world.

The new project, being launched in Perth on the 11th of March is called, ‘1000 Women, 1000 Futures.’

The project is organised to empower 1000 women entrepreneurs around the world.

The initiative, by MMA Australia, will provide the chosen beneficiaries sustainable livelihood opportunities, worth an average of $1000 each, to help women entrepreneurs build their own business.

The organisation also aims to distribute sewing machines, cattle, hens and goats, supplies for small grocery stores, and more that will help women in developing nations the tools to survive and support their families.

The fundraiser will also help build the skills required for business management, to ensure long term success and sustainability.

Julia D’Orazio, a Perth-born and London based Journalist, will be one of the speakers at the event. D’Orazio recently travelled to Tanzania to volunteer and support women become self sustaining entrepreneurs there.

“Women are the backbone of our society and it’s so important that we encourage and support women,” Julia told So Perth.

“In developing nations not just with providing handouts but with the skills and knowledge to empower themselves and their families financially through small business practices,” she said.
