Everything is awesome at Hawaiian centres this school holidays!

We headed along to check out the Lego Play Zone and judging by the line well before it opened this one will be a popular school holiday activity – so make sure you get there early.

First up was the speed challenge. Battle your friend to see who could build the bowling alley the fastest. We’ve got this set at home so had a bit of an advantage. Little ones may need a hand with following the instructions for this set.

Next up the blindfold challenge. It’s pretty hard to click those little circles together when blindfolded and who knows what your creation will look like when you are done. Lots of laughs here.

The best bit is the free play table. A HUGE amount of Lego to play with and the only limit being your imagination. A house on wheels? A princess castle? A dinosaur? There is enough Lego to do them all!

Had enough of clicking together those pieces? There are iPads with Lego games to play, perfect for while you are waiting for a spot at the free play table or to give you some ideas of what to build.

They say the age this is best for is 2-12 but I don’t think you are ever too old for Lego!
