Since 1990, the Telethon Kids Institute has grown to become of the largest, and most successful medical research institutes in the world, comprising a dedicated and diverse team of more than 500 staff and student members.

Thanks to the work of incredible people like former Australian of the Year Professor Fiona Stanley, the Telethon Kids Institute was one of the first of its kind.

The Institute is highly collaborative, with a structure across major areas of medical science, including clinical research, laboratory sciences and epidemiologists – all under the one roof, to tackle complex diseases and issues in a number of innovative ways.

The Telethon Kids Institute has achieved much since 1990, with researchers authoring more than 3,500 books, articles and monographs that are contributing to breakthroughs in children’s health across the world.

Some of the most significant medical science innovations and discoveries of the last decades have taken place thanks to the Telethon Institute. We encourage you to learn more here.

The Telethon Kids Institute can only operate thanks to funding from the Australian and Western Australian government, generous corporate donations, NFP givers and the incredible generosity by the people of Perth and Western Australia through events like the annual Telethon7 Perth event.

Happy Birthday to the Kids Institute from the TweetPerth community!
