Perth, help celebrate International Guide Dog Day on Wednesday, 27 April

Perth, celebrate International Guide Dog Day by being in the Perth CBD for the annual Street Appeal from 7am-2pm.

Across Perth City, hundreds of volunteers, staff, Guide Dog user and beautiful Guide Dogs of all ages and stages of training will be out.

Perth workers are also encouraged to hold office fundraisers, call Margie on (08) 9311 8236 to register your event – or simply meet a Guide Dog team on the day with your team’s donation!

Perth people should also upload pictures and messages to social media with the hashtags #IGDD and #GetOnBoardWithGuideDogs.

Our good friends at Guide Dogs WA are urging individuals to bring cash and coins into the city to donate.

Guide Dogs WA are aiming to raise $35,000 for much needed training and support services.

The history of Guide Dogs WA goes back decades, with perth home to the first ever Guide Dog to be trained in Australia. Beau, a Kelpie/Border Collie cross was trained right here in Perth back in 1952.

Beau and his blind owner Mrs Elsie Mead travelled all over Australia promoting Guide Dog mobility.

If you can’t get into the CBD on April 27, you can donate to the appeal now.
