Planning your upcoming nuptials in Perth? There’s no shortage of unique and beautiful locations in our ever-changing city.

From gardens to heritage buildings, hotels to bars, Perth offers quite the range of venue options for wedding ceremonies, receptions and photo opportunities.

When it comes to making choices for your wedding the options may be overwhelming, but be encouraged knowing our beautiful city has something to suit just about every style and wedding budget.

Kings Park

Kings Park has long been a popular location for weddings, whether its impressive gum trees are the setting for a ceremony or the stunning city skyline the backdrop for photos.

The park itself is well groomed and its lawns pristine, and provided you’re happy to share your special day with the public it can offer the charm of a natural environment while still being near the city.

Kings Park caters for a range of weddings from small intimate ceremonies to larger-scale options.

Nestled within the Place of Reflection, Marlee Pavilion is one of the more popular wedding locations within the park.

Boosting a gorgeous view over the river it’s a perfectly peaceful place for a ceremony.

The park is often a favourite choice among couples for wedding photography, popular locations include Fraser Avenue and the Rotary Wishing Well.

Kings Park is also of course, home to the renowned Fraser’s Restaurant, which boosts striking views of the city through its floor to ceiling windows.

If you’re interested in having your wedding or photos taken at Kings Park you must make a booking with the Botanic Gardens and Park Authority.

On the Botanic Gardens website you’ll find a venue search tool to help you find the perfect spot within the park for your big day – it is, after all, larger than Central Park, New York so you can’t be scouting the whole area by foot.

The bookings officer can be contacted via:

[email protected] or on 9480 3624. 9.00 am-3.00 pm, Tuesday – Friday.

Art Gallery of Western Australia

Give your wedding a modern edge by hosting your reception in the open function space of the Art Gallery of Western Australia.

The gallery’s main function area, the Concourse, provides a clean contemporary space in the heart of Perth’s cultural centre.

Up to 160 guests can enjoy a sit down dinner reception in the Concourse and many more can occupy the space for a cocktail function.

After a successful season of their Rooftop Bar, AGWA is now fielding queries for weddings in their unique rooftop space.

With spectacular city views above street level, there’s no doubt this space will quickly be a hit.

Expressions of interest can be forwarded on to the Art Gallery event coordinator on 9492 6771 or [email protected].

The Bell Tower

One of Perth’s most iconic landmarks, The Bell Tower is an elegant and unique venue choice.

Situated right on the Swan River with the city skyline in the background, and the newly established Elizabeth Quay, this venue has a lot to recommend it when it comes to its location in the Perth CBD.

The tower hosts both ceremonies and receptions, and with access to manicured lawns, gorgeous gardens and delightful water features there are plenty of photo opportunities in the surrounding area.

Contact the operations and events manager on 6210 0444 or [email protected] with any queries.

The Trustee

For an intimate restaurant style wedding in a heritage setting, take a peek inside the gorgeous Perth Trustee Building at this stylish little bistro.

The Trustee is passionate about great wines with great food and as a result say they attract couples who also enjoy exquisite produce.

Keep things intimate with 30-50 guests in their Upstairs Bistro private dining room, or if you’re after a larger scale reception the Angel’s Cut bar can hold up to 200 guests for cocktail events.

Functions and Event Co-ordinate Renata Rignall said because the venue is filled with luxe wooden chests and candelabra’s guests don’t need to splurge on decorations to make the space look charming.

“I have spent many a year in the weddings industry and collated my favourite suppliers to work with to ensure a seamless event,” she said.

“I also like to create bespoke packages, menus and styling to make every wedding as unique as the couple they are about.”

“We have hosted close to 70 weddings of all sizes and themes, from the intimate 12 guests in a bespoke private dining room with a three course menu and award winning wine list, to large quirky functions of 110 guests on our Rear and Front Terrace cocktail style,” Sales and Marketing Director Amanda Hoyne said.

The Terrace Hotel boasts six individual spaces to host your special event, from the most intimate Premier Room for eight seated guests or up to 20 for a cocktail event, to the art deco charm of the Front Terrace that can cater for up to 120 cocktail guests.

Now an inner city public house across three floors, The Flour Factory is a transformed 100 year-old flour mill.

There are three unique spaces The Factory, The Sherry (an intimate bar space) and The Top Floor

With pristine white walls, brick features and exposed dark wooden beams couples find it takes only small additional details, if any at all, to bring The Top Floor to life.

Lamont’s Bishops House

You don’t have to journey to the Swan Valley for a picture perfect wedding amongst lush gardens and rolling greens.

Nestled in the heart of Perth City is the private outdoor space of stunning heritage building Lamont’s Bishops House.

Built in the late 1800s, this Georgian manor provides a beautiful backdrop for garden ceremonies and receptions under the stars (or fairy lights).

“Our couples are encouraged to be creative, think out of the box so to speak, and include those little touches and design elements that help make their special day unique and memorable,” Matthew Schwind of Lamont’s said.

“We tend to promote the venue as a blank canvas, allowing couples a wide variety of options to set, design and create.”

They host weddings from an intimate group of ten in a private dining room, seated dinners for up to 140 under the stars, and up to large groups of 200 for cocktail events outdoors.

Many couples have held their dream DIY weddings here, as well as large, dramatic events that involve multiple stylists.

The Old Swan Brewery

Coming off winning two Australian Bridal Industry Academy Awards last year, The Old Swan Brewery has proved itself to be a much-adored reception centre.

The iconic red building on the Swan River can accommodate up to 150 people for a sit down dinner, or 300 for a cocktail party in the Thomas Hardwick Function Room.

Alternatively, there are a number of rooms that can be shared with just your closest friends for a more private affair.

You can also take your vows on the Riverside Lawn, which can seat 20 guests with standing room for 100.

City Parks

If you’re interested in an outdoor wedding within city surrounds take a walk around Harold Boas in West Perth and check out Queens Gardens near the cricket grounds.

These two lush locations offer a tranquil setting for any wedding and plenty of photo opportunities.

A large pavilion sits in the middle of Queens Gardens, and with plenty of space all around it makes a great spot to view any ceremony.

While this list is long, it’s certainly not extensive. There are plenty more fabulous places on offer, so have a hunt around the city and see if you can discover your own dream location.
