Mark McGowan Confirms WA Border To Ease At Midnight Tonight

The first phase of WA’s Border ease will occur tonight.

Today WA Premier Mark McGowan has confirmed people from South Australia, Queensland, Australian Capital Territory, Northern Territory and Tasmania can enter without quarantine from midnight tonight.

People from New South Wales and Victoria will still need to isolate for 14 days. 

States allowed into Western Australia

Under this system, travel from ‘very low risk’ states and territories will be permitted, with conditions on arrival including declarations, temperature tests and possible COVID-19 testing.

However, travellers from these states will no longer need to self-quarantine.

  • Tasmania
  • Queensland
  • South Australia
  • Australian Capital Territory
  • Northern Territory

New South Wales and Victoria

Travel from ‘low risk’ states and territories also permitted, with similar conditions on arrival, in addition to 14 days of self-quarantine and a mandatory Day 11 COVID-19 test.

Travelling out of Western Australia

Western Australians who choose to travel to New South Wales or Victoria and then return home to Western Australia, they will be required to self-quarantine for 14 days upon their return.
