The Skyshow is Australia’s biggest fireworks display, with millions of dollars invested in the event.

The fireworks barge was not far away from the light plane crash.

Out of respect to those lost and to allow authorities and investigators to reach the crash site, the fireworks display was called off within an hour of the tragedy.

People were urged to leave the Swan River area and head home in an orderly fashion.
