Fashion Council WA Swim & Resort Series 2015
Summer in Western Australia is certainly something worth celebrating, and this year we are kicking it off with a bang at the Swim + Resort Series 2015 at Bathers Beach House on Sunday November 29.
Hosted by Fashion Council WA and Telstra Perth Fashion Festival, the Swim + Resort Series is in it’s second year and two runway shows will showcase the immense WA and Australian talent we have on offer.
First up, 7 of Western Australia’s favourite independent designers will hit the runway showcasing their sizzling swimwear and resort collections. Designers include Amore & Sorvete, Bernice Sara, Gypsea, Natalie Rolt, NU Swimwear, PALM Swimwear and Rue Stiick – all offering their own individual and differing design aesthetics. My must sees of the bunch? PALM Swimwear’s simplistic designs, Bernice Sara’s ocean influenced aesthetic and NU Swimwear’s feminine cuts and sexy styles, along with Natalie Rolt who transfers her stunning ready to wear designs into her swimwear collection. There’s even something for the boys in Ocean Zone Swim, who feature iconic Perth beaches and exotic world destinations on every pair of their boardshort designs. It’s not surprising to see the enormous swimwear and resort talent to come out of WA given we have the best beaches in the world at our fingertips!
The second show of the day features a designer that is on everyone’s lips at the moment – Camilla! Inspired by her recent trip to Spain, Turkey and Portugal, Camilla’s new swim collection titled My Wandering Heart is everything you could imagine and more to come from the designer. Full of colour, rich history and the beauty of foreign destinations, and of course the embellishments Camilla is more than known for, this swim collection is luxe, sexy and elegant all rolled into one. A showcase not to be missed!
And just in case you needed more convincing – Fashion Council WA have invited a very special guest along to experience it all with us. Boasting 1.6 million Instagram followers, a successful blog, swimwear website and swimwear line (how does she have the time!) – Natasha Oakley is quite literally the poster girl for swimwear – and rightly so! With a killer beach bod, modelling portfolio, cult following and business acumen to go with it, Tash Oakley is a huge pull for WA fashion and only reflects the immense talent we have this side of the country.
I can’t think of a better way to spend a Sunday afternoon – can you? If anyone needs me, I’ll either be daydreaming of my new swimwear purchases or fangirling over Tash Oakley!
