Canning Highway will become the world’s biggest stage.

On the 1st of March, Canning Highway one of Perth’s busiest roads will be shutdown from Canning Bridge to the Old Fremantle Traffic Bridge and transformed into a rolling stage for the Highway to Hell Perth Festival closing event.

With over 100,000 people expected, this will be a once in a lifetime event.

What you need to know about Highway

Punters are being asked to arrive from 3pm with entertainment to commence from 4pm and trucks to start rolling at 5pm.

The Trucks and Artist

Artists on the trucks will be performing along the entire highway (except between Rome Rd and Preston Point Rd).

The trucks will also be stopping at 9 stop points along the highway (in the four zones) where artists will perform a song in its entirety.

All the bands will be performing AC/DC songs only, in their own unique style.

Highway To Hell Zones

When heading to the event you will first need to pick your zone. Given the size of the ‘stage’ you will want to plan ahead and pick where you want to setup for the event as moving zones once the event starts could prove difficualy with huge crowds expected.

Each zone will have different acts and entertainment so we have broken down each zone with maps below to make choosing easier.

Canning Bridge Zone

This is where it all starts and is the perfect spot to watch the truck kick-off.

Tompkins Park Zone

Witness a world record attempt as Perth tries to break the Air Guitar world record. Trucks are expected to arrive at 5:50pm and those hanging around to 7:50pm will be able to see local artist End of Fashion.

Valley Zone

Touch-up on your air guitar skills with an air guitar demo with Jinja Assassin & Crew at 5:30pm before the trucks will roll through 6:35pm.

Rainbow Zone

The end of the line for the Highway to Hell is at the Rainbow Zone. There will be lots of roving performers, choirs, acrobats and kids activities. The trucks will be expected to arrive at 7:25pm

Event public transport

Get Home With Perth Public Transport New Years Eve

Additional services will be running for the event but remember to plan your journey and allow plenty of extra travelling time as services will be busy.

Road closures and disruptions

Due to the event, there will be a number of road closures in place resulting in significant disruptions to localtraffic and timetabled Transperth services.

Please note Canning Highway from Canning Bridge, Applecross to Queen Victoria Street, Fremantle and one block back along the route will be closed to traffic from 1pm and will reopen in sections by 11pm.
