Two Perth whiskey bars are hosting events to celebrate International Whiskey Day.
Whether it’s whiskey or whisky that you prefer; Perth’s most awarded American whiskey bar, Varnish on King, and Perth’s first Japanese whisky bar, Goody Two’s, are joining forces in showcasing an immersive experience for those who have a refined palate to one of the world’s most revered spirits for International Whisk(e)y Day 2019.
Revellers are able to embark their journey from America to Japan or vice versa via Peddle Perth. Once they arrive at their destination, a friendly host will guide them through specialities from each venue.
The guided tour offers four drinks and delightful bites such as beef tendon crisps, mini bacon flight, mac & cheese from Varnish on King, GFC (Goody Fried Chicken), crispy sushi rice and tune tartare
with yuzu kosho and avocado from Goody Two’s.
The main difference between whiskey and whisky is geography but it’s not always common knowledge according to hospitality gurus Andy Freeman, Eamon Sullivan and Scott Bridger.
“We want this to be a fun, interactive – but also educational experience for the people of Perth,” said Andy Freeman.
Your taste buds will travel over 10,000 kilometres as you go from America to Japan or vice versa as you travel through the bright lights of the Perth CBD, accompanied by fun Japanese/American music
as the Pedal Perth riders’ dish out fun facts about all things whisk(e)y.
Valued at $150, for only $80 plus booking fee, this intimate experience is limited to 14 people at a time, with each venue limited to three time slots only, these will sell out fast.
