Titanic Exhibition Perth – Exploring one of the world’s most infamous disasters

Titanic The Exhibition, telling the most recognisable story of maritime accomplishment and disaster, arrives for the first time ever in Australia at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre on December 12.

Open for a limited engagement through to February 2016, the timeless story of Titanic’s first and final voyage is told through dramatic room re-creations and 100-year-old artefacts.

For the first time in Australia and coming to Perth exclusively, the largest and most comprehensive Titanic exhibition in the world which features over 375 artefacts directly from the pre-sinking Titanic and her nearly identical sister ship, Olympic, thus providing a rare opportunity to view the grand Titanic as she was before sinking to her watery grave.

Select artefacts were removed from Titanic before she sailed to New York, others were found floating in the ocean immediately after her sinking, and a lucky few survived the disaster in the coat pockets of the rescued.

Additional artefacts from James Cameron’s 1997 blockbuster movie ‘Titanic’ are also featured, including the famous ‘Heart
of the Ocean’ necklace worn by Kate Winslet in the movie.

Titanic The Exhibition is a journey on-board 1912’s largest and most luxurious ship, culminating in one of the deadliest maritime disasters in history. Beginning with her conception and construction, the exhibition sails throughTitanic’s short, but grand life at sea and includes re-creations of her interiors alongside relevant artefacts.

Sights, sounds and smells transport visitors back to 1912 to experience the opulent and excessive era of luxury steamship travel.

“Everyone can relate to someone on Titanic and the story of her voyage still resonates all over the
world,” states Tom Zaller, President/CEO of Imagine Exhibitions Pte. Ltd.

“This particular exhibition really immerses the visitor in the moving tale of Titanic’s voyage at every part of her journey- allowing visitors to experience the sights, sounds and stories as if they were on the ship.”

Visitors to Titanic Exhibition Perth receive a launch ticket containing the personal information of an actual First, Second or Third Class Titanic passenger, or crewmember, offering a perspective on the passenger or crewmember’s background and life on-board.

The experience culminates in the Memorial Gallery, where visitors learn their chosen passenger or crewmember’s fate on the cold early morning of April 15, 1912.
