Jaime Lee at Telstra Perth Fashion Festival was mind-blowing
As predicted in my earlier ‘Guide to Perth Fashion Festival’, Jaime Lee outdid herself and completely wowed the crowds and turned the night into a party with the show of the week so far!
Last night, the TPFF runway was glossy black and turned into a playground with giant glitter unicorns on skateboards and a neon rainbow archway.
Gold confetti rained from the sky and the crowd was left cheering at the conclusion, sad that it was over but buzzing with creative energy!
Each year, Jaime Lee somehow manages to one-up the incredible show from the previous year, and this one was no different.
Inspired by a Japanese theme park with definite undertones of a Harajuku girl, the models were dressed in creations that can only be described by referencing the following: glitter, sequins, feathers, bell sleeves, metal mesh, pastels, metallics and sheer fabrics.
In true Jaime Lee style, we were treated to a performance rather than a simple runway show, with the models strutting down the catwalk with the fiercest of attitudes to match the garments, looking like the ultimate Barbie dolls. Swoon!
My favourite part?
Jaime Lee’s creations this collection are definitely more ‘wearable’. Less ball gowns and more event ready dresses and two-piece outfits that you could slot into your wardrobe with ease.
A special shoutout to the sequinned caps and sequinned backpacks that were cool circa 1998 and are now becoming cool again thanks to last nights show.
Be sure to head over to ENEX100 in Perth City this week to check out the Jaime Lee pop up store on Level 1. Especially if you missed the runway show last night, everyone needs to casts their eyes over all the incredible creations!
