What’s On
February 2022
The new season will open with a bang showcasing Bizet’s masterpiece Carmen. Performed arena-style at the WACA with a fully staged set, chorus, children’s chorus, West Australian Symphony Orchestra and pyrotechnics.
April 2022
April will see Tchaikovsky’s Iolanta grace their home stomping grounds at His Majesty’s Theatre. It’s a world premiere collab between WA Opera and the vision-impaired community of Perth, following the story of a blind heroine.
May 2022
Two diva sopranos will hit the stage to face off in the ultimate Duel at the Government House Ballroom. Emma Pettemerides and Naomi Johns will bring the roof down while an intimate dinner is served up to opera-goers.
July 2022
A brand new Perth production hits in July, with Opera Queensland 1970’s setting of Puccini’s beloved Tosca and a debut soprano.
October 2022
They’ll be presenting their third opera for young people this year with Our Little Inventor– a moving story about how some of the biggest and brightest ideas start from the smallest of places.
The season will close up with a brand-new production of Verdi’s La Traviata, delighting both already opera lovers and new audiences.
