Perth Festival has been raising a toast to Perth, its people, and its culture on the shores of the Swan River for the last 70 years — cementing itself as the country’s longest-running arts festival. Its 2024 edition is set to commence on the 9th of February and will run until early March in celebration of our shared humanity and Ngaangk’s (which means both “sun” and “mother” in Noongar) effect on Earth. Punters can expect a warm and welcoming selection of performances, film, fine and contemporary music, literature, and visual arts.

Trigg’s sweeping coastline has something for all with spots to surf, swim, and snorkel, and our personal favourite, beach markets. If you’re partial to a little ocean-inspired creativity and sustainability, spend a wholesome morning at Clarko Reserve where you’ll support local creatives and artisans. The Summer X Salt markets are definitely worth a gander before they pack up shop for the season at the end of March.

Adventure World Nights

If you’re down to explore the park after dark, AW Nights are held every Saturday night in February from 6:30 pm. Get the adrenaline-pumping, heart-stopping thrill and combine it with a tasty feed from one of the many food trucks, entertainment from roving performers and a live rumba band. That’s a big yes from us! Just keep in mind that the kid-friendly Dragon’s Kingdom isn’t open for the event.

South32 Rottnest Channel Swim

Whether you’re swimming, spectating, or soaking up all the good vibes with a beer in hand, don’t miss one of WA’s most iconic events. Conquering the 19.7-kilometre open water swim from Cottesloe Beach to Rotto is no easy feat, so you’ll want to be there as the bathers, budgie smugglers and support crews cross the finish line and celebrate at Thomson Bay. Not that we need another excuse to visit our favourite island paradise, though. The best viewing points include South Thomson Bay, the grassed area in front of the Salt Store building and the mezzanine area above the Visitor Centre.
