With Christmas coming up quickly, festive activities are popping up left, right, and centre.

We’ve rounded up some of the best events happening this weekend to really get you into the jolly spirit, as well as some non-Christmas ones if you’re not quite there yet.

Take a look at what’s happening this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday as the countdown to the festive period begins.

Friday, December 9th

What's On - Paint Behaviour Kamile Gallery
Caroline Christie – Coxon / Kamilė Gallery

Kamilė Gallery will be running PAINT BEHAVIOUR, a solo exhibition of work by Caroline Christie-Coxon from December 2nd to January 18th.

An ode to materiality and fluidity, PAINT BEHAVIOUR presents a diverse range of work committed to exploring the process and potential of paint.

The minimalist style of the paintings draws awareness to “less might be more,” a juxtaposition to overstimulation in our culture.

Elizabeth Quay Fun Fair

Soak up the festive spirit and enjoy a day in the city with the return of the Elizabeth Quay Fun Fair

Celebrate the most wonderful time of the year with snow-tipped Christmas trees, show bags, falling snow, and even an appearance from Santa.

Entry is free but tokens and wristbands need to be purchased for the attractions.

The East End Festive Marketplace

Friday 3:00 pm – 7:00 pm

Saturday 11:00 am – 3:00 pm

Visit Perth’s CBD for a festive weekend of unique and contemporary markets of independent West Australian creators with the East End Festive Marketplace

Over the weekend, shoppers can search for a Christmas gift and have it custom gift-wrapped in partnership with Juluwarlu Arts Group.

Explore designer, pre-loved, and vintage stalls handpicked by Second Life Market with Ningaloo Records. Perhaps grab a bite to eat or enjoy a drink while browsing WA-made products.

The markets are presented by East End Arts Precinct in collaboration with the Fremantle Arts Centre and Second Life Market.

Saturday, December 10th

Christmas Wreaths – Festive Botanicals

10:00 am – 1:00 pm

In this House of Hobby workshop, El from Maple & Wren will teach you how to construct and build a festive wreath ready to hang on the door.

You will receive all the materials needed to create a stunning natural wreath using a combination of fresh and dried botanicals.

The wreath will then dry naturally and can be used all season long, even for Christmas in July.

Tickets are $170.00 and include all the needed foliage, decorations, and materials, as well as an introduction to buying, preparing, and arranging botanicals.

Every House of Hobby workshop also includes free-flowing bubbles, wine and mimosas, a gourmet grazing platter, and bottomless water, orange juice, tea, and coffee.

Summer x Salt Markets

8:00 am – 1:00 pm

The award-winning Summer x Salt Markets have returned for another Summer with the Christmas pop-up event this Saturday.

Spend a leisurely morning browsing stalls selling homewares, clothing, jewellery, art, and ocean-friendly swimwear. There are even stalls selling clothing and accessories for furry friends.

The Summer x Salt Markets are single-use plastic free and waste free and patrons are encouraged to bring their own cutlery, bag, bottle, plate, and cup.

Sunday, December 11th

What's On - Six the Musical
SIX The Musical / SIX The Musical

SIX The Musical

Remixing 500 years of history, the six wives of Henry VIII retell their story in SIX The Musical at Crown Theatre.

The show is a new take on the stories many are familiar with, but few truly know. Kicking off with a high-energy pop number by all six wives, the spectacular then shines the spotlight on them individually, allowing them to tell you what happened from their perspective.

Ticket prices range from $69.50 to $159.00, depending on the seats and what day you go.

The last show is on December 18th, so get tickets here if you haven’t yet seen it.

Brass On The Grass

3:00 pm – 8:00 pm

Pack a picnic and head down to Victoria Gardens in East Perth this Sunday for an evening of festive entertainment with Brass on the Grass – Christmas on the Derbarl Yerrigan

In collaboration with the East Perth Community Group, this event has been an annual celebration in the area for over a decade.

See band performances and community choirs, and enjoy craft activities, games, and — of course — a visit from Santa.

Must-see performances include the WA Brass Band, Olman Walley, Junkadelic Brass Band, the East Perth Community Group Choir, and the Highgate Primary School Choir.
