Who’s Playing YardVibes?

Local promoters Suburban Vibes and Toasty Tunes have worked the bill with rich, sultry and melodic artists, including: Old Blood, Timothy Nelson, The Tommyhawks, Luke Dux & Atomic Lunchbox, Priscilla, Wild Oak and Sol Strange.

Old Blood

YardVibes: Old Blood

Celebrated as “the best live act around” (Tamara Szep, RTRFM), the band comprises of Tyler Ray Michie on drums, bassist Shaun Liddell Jennings and guitarists Edo Ekic and Jules Peet; their modern blues stylings strung tightly together by the captivating stage presence of vocalist Tony Papa-Adams.

Their strong and persistent following has seen appear at coveted local festivals including West Coast Blues and Roots Festival, Wave Rock Weekender, Beaufort Street Festival, RTRFM’s Harbour Sundays, Blues at Bridgetown, Fremantle Winter Music Festival and Angove St Festival.

Timothy Nelson

YardVibes: Timothy Nelson

Fusing clever lyricism with unforgettable hooks; the guy has a bit of a reputation for putting out ear worms. With dozens of song writing awards under his belt it’s no wonder the versatile Perth songwriter has collaborated with artists including the likes of folk artist Liz Stringer to hip hop legend Drapht.

The Tommyhawks

YardVibes: The Tommyhawkes

These girls have a combined hatred of hairbrushes, a love of VB and a penchant for picking the shittest camper van to tour in.

They like the festival thing: they’ve done lots. They like going to the east coast to play you their stuff and they somehow do that a lot. Probably by flogging you all their home made t-shirts.

They play kinda indie rock with a shit tonne of energy and a fair bit of saxophone and no boys and some of its super catchy and some of it will make you weep.

Luke Dux & Atomic Lunchbox

YardVibes: Luke Dux

If you’ve been to gigs in Western Australia the likelihood is that you’ve come across these guys at some point. Dux has a reputation for playing music… a lot and playing it well.

Whether it’s his brooding vocals and fuzzy guitar in The Floors, his eclectic guitar noise in Timothy Nelson & The Infidels or his more countryfied’ tunes in the Wilds and Davey Craddock & The Spectacles it’s safe to say that Dux knows his way around a guitar and he’s been recognised for this as well having won WAM’s best guitarist award for the fourth time in 2014.

Priscilla

YardVibes: Priscilla

This Perth Duo have only been out and releasing music into the world since 2018, but have already been referred to as “the Electro-Pop sound of the future” (Max Lewis – Purple Sneakers). Their sole purpose is to move you with lyrics, hit you with harmony and make waves with endless breakneck bops.

Hayden from Pilerats will tell you “Priscilla’s swirling melodies have won us over time and time again” and not only is it because this unlikely pair are the best of friends- but in reality Priscilla’s just the lost brother Luke never knew he had.

Wild Oak

YardVibes: Wild Oak

Through the heart felt lyrics and moving melodies, Wild Oak takes the audience on an honest and personal journey. Originally a duo, the act has developed into a full band, bringing a fullness to their sound that promises to leave you feeling uplifted.

Playing alongside bands such as Old Blood, The Southern River Band and Your Girl Pho you can catch the live act playing throughout the Perth music scene as they showcase their first EP.

What a great way to enjoy that time between Christmas and New Year!
