Perth Weather: Cold Front to Start Easter Long Weekend

A large cold front will hit Perth to start the Easter Long Weekend.

Rain and high winds will be coming to Perth and the South West region on Friday morning and people are advised to be extra cautious on the roads.

There is also a chance of thunderstorms with the cold front, with temperatures set to fall with a maximum of 19C predicted.

Official Perth weather forecast for Good Friday:

Perth area

Partly cloudy. High (70%) chance of showers, most likely during the morning. The chance of a thunderstorm. Winds west to southwesterly 25 to 40 km/h turning southerly 15 to 20 km/h later.

Perth Facebook page, Perth Weather Live, says that the cold front “is likely to bring strong winds and rain during Friday.”

“If you are thinking of traveling south for the Easter weekend we would like you to know that we are expecting a cold front,”

Snow at Bluff Knoll

The weather team are expecting snow at Bluff Knoll near Albany.

“There is a chance that Bluff knoll will see snow at its peak,” they said.

“For the salmon fishermen PLEASE stay away from the rocks swells reaching 4/5 meters will hit the coast on Friday, these swells will slowly drop to 2 meters by Sunday,”

EASTER LONG WEEKEND UPDATE WET WINDY START WITH LOTS OF SWELL If you are thinking of travelling south for the Easter weekend we would like you to know that we are expecting a cold front that is likely to bring strong winds and rain during Friday. Overnight temperatures Friday are likely to be in single digits and with the strong winds we would encourage everyone to take lots of warm clothes and a good sleeping bag! There is a chance that Bluff knoll will see snow at its peak Saturday rain will recede back to coastal areas and the south west corner.Max temperatures throughout the south west will be in the Low teens and again it will be cold overnight Sunday temperatures will be slightly warmer hitting the mid teens but still in single digits overnight!
