Wednesday the 28th of August 2019 will now go down as the hottest August day in Perth history and also the hottest winter day since 1965.
What a day it has been! For those stuck inside it, no doubt seemed like just another day – however, today was quite historical with Perth experiencing it’s hottest August day ever.
Today has slightly eclipsed the record initially set in in 1940 when a temperature of 27.8C was reached on August 21, 1940.
According to BOM Perth has now hit 28.1C at 12:50pm.
While Perth has just reached over 28C, Swanbourne currently sits at 28.8C, Jandakot 28.5C and Perth Airport 28.4.

Though this perfect winter’s day seems to only be a short tease for Perth, with more traditional winter weather to hit from tomorrow.
