Meet Yaburgurt Cirkelstone — Mandurah’s Newest Giant

Mandurah’s tourism success, Giants of Mandurah, continues to grow its story.

Located on the Coodanup foreshore in Mandurah, you’ll find world-renowned Danish recycle artist Thomas Dambo’s newest masterpiece.

Resting on the land of the Bindjareb Noongar people, Mandurah’s newest giant has been named Yaburgurt Cirkelstone, in honour of a respected Elder from the region and in consultation with Bindjareb Elders.

Built in collaboration with local community members, the new Giant, replaces the Vivi Cirkelstone sculpture which was damaged by arsonists in December last year.

The Giants of Mandurah outdoor sculpture trail rapidly caught the attention of the community when it began in 2022, since then over 110,000 people have been to Mandurah’s Visitor Centre to begin the trail.

“Thomas Dambo’s latest addition to the Giants of Mandurah outdoor exhibition is another prime example of the diversity of the arts in Western Australia and will bring real joy to Mandurah residents and visitors alike” said Minister for Culture and the Arts David Templeman MLA.

Visitors can experience the outdoor sculpture trail in the Peel region until at least November 12, 2023. Locals and visitors can plan their adventure and discover more at giantsofmandurah.com.au.
