Today Premier Mark McGowan and Health Minister Roger Cook provided an update on the latest Perth coronavirus updates.

Latest COVID-19 cases in Western Australia

Overnight WA has recorded 3 new cases of COVID-19 today, taking the total cases in WA to 535.

This is now the 6th day in row where WA’s new cases have remained in single digits.

WA COVID-19 snapshot:

  • There are currently 535 confirmed COVID-19 cases in WA
  • Of the new cases, the individuals are aged between 38 and 74 years old
  • 40% of WA’s COVID-19 cases come from cruise ships
  • 338 people have recovered from COVID-19 in WA
  • 8 people are in ICU
  • 25,088 West Australians have tested negative for COVID-19

Expanded testing program to begin tomorrow

12 private diagnostic sites will be made available for coronavirus testing with a referral from a GP.

This will significantly increase the number of testing locations and significantly increase the testing capabilities of the state.
