Mark McGowan and Roger Cook official update for WA on COVID-19.
In a statement this afternoon there were only 8 new confirmed cases overnight in Western Australia – taking our total to 400.
While these low number of new cases is encouraging – Mark McGowan stressed this is not the time to be complacent.
“While our overall numbers are encouraging we need to take further steps to protect our state.
Of the 8 new cases, 7 were within the metro area and 1 in regional WA.
2 are males and 6 are female within the age range of 24 to 78.

A hard border closure on 11:59pm on Sunday night.
Mr McGowan states “In effect, we’ll be turning Western Australia into an island within an island, our own country.”
As a statement on Mark McGowan’s Facebook page provides further details about the hard though temporary closure.
