Latest Perth COVID-19 update for week commencing Monday 25th of January.

Perth has recorded 5 new COVID-19 cases this week – taking the state’s total to 899 confirmed cases.

Western Australia COVID-19 daily breakdown

  • Monday 25th: 0 new cases
  • Tuesday 26th: 1 new case
  • Wednesday 27th: 2 new cases
  • Thursday 28th: 1 new case
  • Friday 29th: 12 new cases

All cases are from returning travellers and all are now in hotel quarantine.

The Department of Health has reported that there are a total of 14 active cases being monitored in the state – all of which are in hotel quarantine.

Western Australia has now recorded 899 confirmed cases of COVID-19 from 721,959 COVID-19 tests performed in WA.

To date 15 cases of variant strains have been detected (12 B.1.1.7 strain and 3 B.1.351 strain).

876 people have recovered from the virus in WA.

Queensland border set to ease next week

From Monday pending no further outbreaks, Queenslanders will no longer be required to isolate for 14 days when travelling into Western Australia.

Travellers currently fro Queensland, Victoria and New South Wales are permitted to quarantine for two weeks and submit to regular COVID-19 testing. 

If all goes to plan, Queensland will join South Australia, Tasmania, the Northern Territory and the ACT as the state and territories allowed to enter Western Australia without quarantine, however, all travellers are still required to complete a G2G Pass before entering WA.
