Health Minister Roger Cook provides an update on the latest WA COVID-19 numbers.

In today’s media conference Mr. Cook confirmed 4 new local cases and a further 2 cases from the cruise ship Artania – giving WA 6 new cases overnight.

Of the new cases all are metro with individuals aged 26-79.

WA’s coronavirus total now stands at 541 with 7 deaths.

WA has now tested over 26,000 individuals with 25,684 testing negative.

377 people have recovered from COVID-19 in WA, with 6 people in ICU.

Of the latest coronavirus death, Mr Cook provided details of the individual a 42-year-old man who was a crew member of the cruise ship Artania, becoming the seventh coronavirus death in WA.

This is also the the youngest coronavirus death in the country.

WA has now reached the 7th day in row where new cases have remained in single digits.
