Someone in Perth (probably Perth – but maybe elsewhere in WA) just won the entire $50 million Powerball Jackpot!
The $50 million prize is the biggest lottery win in the history of Western Australia, according to 7 News.
The massive win surpasses the last biggest ever jackpot win in WA, with a syndicate winning $30 million in May 2015 in Oz Lotto.
A $30 million lotto prize had been won in WA four times in the past 15 years, according to the ABC in a story earlier this year.
“This multi-million-dollar record has only been matched three times in WA’s history, in 2001, 2007 and 2013,” Lotterywest spokesperson Pina Compagnone said
