It’s not every day you see whale bones hanging from the ceiling and it’s not every day that you get to have a sneak peek of the whale suspended in the WA Museum Boola Bardip with a drone.
Local drone videographer Michael Haluwana of Aeroture has been working with the new WA Museum Boola Bardip ahead of its opening in November to bring a new perspective to the venue.

Reported in back in January this year the WA Museum named the whale skeleton Otto.
Otto will take centre stage as visitors to the museum will be able to walk under the entire 24-metre skeleton. Plus visitors will be able to walk along a walkway at eye-level, giving a new perspective on the one of WA museum’s most iconic object.
The blue whale washed ashore at the mouth of the Vasse River near Busselton in 1897 and it took three years for the Museum’s taxidermist Otto Lipfert to prepare the bones for display. Hence why the name Otto for this iconic work.
Want to be the first to visit WA Museum Boola Bardip
Punters hoping to be the first to experience WA’s new museum can win their way to the front of the line.
It is anticipated that there will be huge demand to visit, and so 50,000 free, timed tickets for the nine-day opening celebration events will be allocated from an online ballot.
