Will West Coast Eagles rid themselves of their ‘winning away from home’ curse?

Hmmm. This is a tough one. West Coast Eagles take on Geelong this week, both teams coming off massive wins from last weekend. The Eagles have been the talk of the town lately with their performances away from home. I think people may just need to relax a little bit… West Coast have only lost two games this season, against Hawks and Swans, who are both top 8 sides. It seems like there has been a lot of pressure put on the Eagles to win every single game? The reality is, they are bound to lose a couple, right? I don’t think I am going to start worrying unless they start losing to bottom of the ladder teams…

joshAnyway, I think it will be a big game for Josh Kennedy this week in his 150th with West Coast. His accuracy in front of goal has been a little wonky recently and he will be looking to improve his stats after kicking 3 goals and 6 points last week against Collingwood.

Geelong are going to be tough to beat at Simonds Stadium, that’s for sure. Patrick Dangerfield has been in excellent form this season and doesn’t look like slowing up any time soon. Since Dangerfield’s arrival to the Cats, Joel Selwood seems to have found some extra fire on the field and has also been very impressive. They have become quite the dynamic duo and hopefully West Coast has a game plan to try and restrain them from getting a run on.

geelongEagle Mark LeCras played a fab game last week, kicking 3 goals and gathering 27 disposals. He and Jamie Cripps, who also kicked 3 goals, were effective back-up options in front of goal for Kennedy and Jack Darling. Darling jarred his back during the game and it is still unknown if he will play this weekend.

mark lI feel that this game will be a lot closer than people may think. With all things considered, I am going to back our WA side and tip West Coast Eagles to beat Geelong by 5 points!
