Who will bounce back the best after a week off?

First of all, how good is Thursday night footy?? Now we just need games on Monday night, Tuesday night and Wednesday night and my week will be perfect!

West Coast Eagles welcome the Bombers to Domain Stadium this Thursday, both teams coming off a bye week. The teams will be well rested however, West Coast are playing at home, and we all know how much the home ground advantage counts.

schuey 2The last time these teams met in the NAB Challenge, the Eagles won by a HUGE 103 points. Essendon will be trying to prevent that from happening again on Thursday night, and to be competitive they are going to need to focus on getting 6 points the scoreboard every time the ball goes into their forward 50. The Bombers are the only team in the comp averaging under 10 goals a game (8.5) so that is an area that they really need to work on in order to win games, or to at least kick an acceptable score. Joe Daniher has been showing some good signs in the Bombers forward line so coach John Worsfold will be looking for him to lift the team’s spirits.

lecrasWest Coast have a very strong forward line with the likes of Josh Kennedy and Jack Darling, plus an in-form Mark LeCras. I just don’t think the Bombers will be able to produce enough defensive pressure to stop the Eagles in front of goal. If JK gets off to a good start and kicks a couple of early goals, he will be unstoppable for the rest of the game.

lycettI really do feel for the Bombers and their situation. And I hate seeing teams get absolutely annihilated on the scoreboard. I am 99.9% sure that the Eagles will walk away with the 4 points after the match, I just hope the game is a good one to watch and not too much of a thrashing. The Bombers showed spirit in their last game against 4th on the ladder GWS so hopefully they can be competitive in this match too.

I am tipping West Coast Eagles to beat Essendon by 40 points.
