It will be a battle of David v Goliath this weekend when Fremantle Dockers take on the Giants… Literally.

As all footy fans are aware, Fremantle Dockers are currently 0-6 this season. *sigh*

mundyDespite not winning a game so far this season, I saw a little glimmer of hope last week in the Freo v Adelaide game. Skipper David Mundy made a big difference on his return after suffering a calf injury, and Michael Walters had a great game, finishing on 29 possessions and 3 goals.

Matty Pavlich unfortunately continued his inaccurate goal kicking last week, finishing on 1 goal and 4 points, so fingers crossed he has been practising in front of goal at training. The Dockers definitely moved the ball into their forward 50 a lot better last week than in previous weeks, now all they need to do is make sure they convert that effort into goals!

pavlichGWS had a HUGE win last week over the Hawks (75 points in fact) at Spotless Stadium and will come breezing into this week’s game riding that momentum wave. Tackling the reigning Premiers by such a great margin would give any team a massive boost of confidence! Stevie J was in damaging form, kicking 5 straight goals and gathering 25 disposals.

Now, I’m sure I will cop a lot of flak for what I am about to say however, I have a good feeling about the Dockers this week. My spidey sense is tingling… As far as footy tipping goes, I have tipped with my head and not my heart this season when it comes to Fremantle. I feel that if the Dockers had of kicked straight in front of goal against Adelaide last week, it would have raised their spirits and they could have just made it over the line.

waltersThe Dockers will have the home ground advantage, which in my opinion is worth about 4 goals, and I think Freo’s forwards would have been camped in front of goal during training this week. Towards the end of last week’s game, the Dockers really started to gain a bit of momentum and they matched Adelaide’s 5 goal final quarter. GWS have never won at Domain Stadium and hopefully that trend will continue after this week!

So, what I’m trying to say is… I AM TIPPING FREMANTLE DOCKERS TO WIN!! (By 10 points) There, I said it. Let the debate begin!
