ALL HAIL KING MUNDY!!

A big congrats is in order for star midfielder and all-round good guy David ‘Barra’ Mundy, who has been voted in as the new captain of the Fremantle Dockers by his team mates and coaches. Mundy takes over from Matthew Pavlich who captained the side for 9 years and stepped down from the role earlier in the week.

Not to boast, but I did predict that it would be Mundy who was picked.

*Pats self on back*

Mundy becomes the 8th captain of the Dockers in their 22 year history. Originating from Victoria, he has played 233 games for Fremantle since his debut in 2005.  Mundy has been in the leadership group at Fremantle for a number of years however, he said he was very surprised that he was chosen over fan favourite and Brownlow Medallist Nat Fyfe. The current leadership group also includes Aaron Sandilands, Matthew Pavlich, Nat Fyfe, Lee Spurr and Michael Johnson.

Not only is he a top guy, he is a gun on the footy field.

Check out some of his game highlights below:

Solo effort!

Kicking the game winning goal!

Pouncing on a mistake and punishing with a goal!

Too lovely.
