Welcome back to the jungle!

The Perth Wildcats come into this round on the back of a brilliant start to the season, winning two from two in round 1 and are now sitting on top of the ladder. (Early days, I know, but still!) Their first win of the #NBL19 season was an upset over the Adelaide 36ers at Titanium Security Arena, finishing the game with a hard-fought 8-point win. Superstar import and NBL MVP Bryce Cotton completed the game with 22 points and five assists. Nick Kay managed eight rebounds and Tom Jervis finished with two blocks.

The Wildcats then played their first home game of the season on Sunday, in front of a brilliant #RedArmy crowd of over 12,800 excited fans. They had a huge 40-point win over the Illawarra Hawks, new import Terrico White was impressive, finishing the game with 20 points. Skipper and all-round legend Damian Martin was at his best, managing nine assists and three steals.

Check out the highlights from the Cats v Hawks game:

This week the Cats take on the Brisbane Bullets at RAC Arena and will want to continue their winning streak on their home court. The Bullets come into this game after an 18-point loss to the Cairns Taipans last Saturday. They are sitting at 1-1 for the season and will be looking to bounce back from their loss with a big victory against the Cats on the road.

Despite only having two import players on their roster, the Wildcats look like they are going to be a force to be reckoned with this season. Nick Kay and Mitch Norton are quite the dynamic duo and fitting in well to their new team, while Bryce Cotton and Terrico White form the fire power. They have back up in Clint Steindl, who has also been shooting well from range. Angus Brandt is incredibly strong under the basket, and always finds a way to get points on the board.

I’m tipping the Perth Wildcats to get their third win of the season and defeat the Bullets on Saturday!
