Australia’s Matildas are off to the perfect start to their FIFA Women’s World Cup campaign, winning their first match against the Republic of Ireland 1 – 0 without their best player, Sam Kerr. The next two group-stage fixtures are against Nigeria and Canada on July 27th and July 31st respectively.

Highlights of Australia’s win against the Republic of Ireland.

So, how do you watch all of the Matildas’ upcoming matches, given that none of them are being played in Perth?

What times are the Matildas playing?

The two remaining group-stage games are both being played in Australia — Brisbane and Melbourne — meaning there isn’t a huge time difference you need to worry about, unlike the last World Cup hosted in Qatar.

Both games are prime-time viewing for us in Perth with kick-off at 6:00 pm AWST.

Australia vs Nigeria

When: Thursday, July 27
Where: Brisbane Stadium, Brisbane
Time: 6:00 pm AWST

Our prediction: Australia to win 2 – 0

Canada vs Australia

When: Monday, July 31
Where: Melbourne Rectangular Stadium, Melbourne
Time: 6:00 pm AWST

Our prediction: The match to result in a 1 – 1 draw

Knockout Stages

After one game played, Australia sit top of their Group which is where we predict them to remain. Topping the Group to advance to the Knockout Stages will give the Matildas a strong chance to go deep into the tournament.

The Knockout Stages start with the Round of Sixteen which commences on Saturday, August 5th. Once we know who is playing in these games, we’ll make sure you’re in the know with all of the details on how to watch.

There are a number of options for watching the FIFA Women’s World Cup matches in Perth. Some of the matches are being played at Perth Rectangular Stadium giving you the opportunity to watch them in person. Unfortunately, none of the Matildas’ matches are being played in Perth, so here are your options for those games.

Watching at home

Optus Sport will be streaming all of the matches on their subscription service and 7plus will be televising selected matches including both remaining Matildas’ games.

Out and about

If you’d rather watch the matches amongst fellow fans, you can head to the FIFA Fan Festival at Forest Chase in the Perth CBD. Here you’ll be able to watch the Matildas play and be entertained at half time with activations, and food and drink available.

Alternatively, Perth has a number of sports bars and TABs that will also be screening the matches. Varsity is one of our favourites where you can also enjoy a great burger while watching.
