Spread the love while spreading the hummus.

Leave both your stomach and heart full by attending Perth’s exclusive Cook For Syria event, happening on the 1st November at Perth’s favourite chickpea connoisseurs, The Hummus Club in Northbridge.

This fundraising event is to inspire people to contribute to relief aid for those affected by the Syrian Crisis and be rewarded with their generosity with the best of Syrian cuisine.

The Hummus Club’s Head Chef, Emily Heron will be serving up a Syrian inspired feast, served over a long table shared menu. The menu will also inject some Aussie flair with traditional dishes and flavours reinvented using seasonal West Australian produce. The food will also be matched with Mid Eastern-inspired beverages and wines from the Mid East.

“To us it’s always been about showcasing just how amazing the Mid East is. From the awesome creatives in the arts and music scene, to the underappreciated wine and produce regions, to the friendly and hospitable people that graciously and humbly welcome you into their homes and businesses. This is the Mid East we want people to see and know about. But there is also the humanitarian side that needs to be recognised.” The Hummus Club’s owner Kait Eterovic said.

No meal is complete without entertainment as there will be live entertainment throughout the night with special performances from local DJs and musicians including Felicity Groom. There will also be an auction of artworks including works of renowned street artist Karim Jabbari.

UNICEF Australia’s Director of Fundraising and Communication, Jennifer Tierney, welcomed The Hummus Club’s of hosting the event on one of the restaurant’s busiest nights. “This is an incredible and unique gesture from The Hummus Club, and we would love to see Perth food lovers supporting what will be a tremendous night for #CookForSyria,” Ms Tierney said.

Entire proceeds and profits from the #CookForSyria initiative will go to UNICEF Australia’s Syria Crisis Appeal for Children to help provide vital aid including clean water, education, nutrition, vaccinations and psychosocial support. Globally it has raised more than $1.5 million to date.
