Australia’s premier technology festival, West Tech Fest, is back for another year.
The week-long festival sees the WA tech community come together to discover the latest inventions, novel ideas, and innovative products. There’s a whole lot of networking, pitching opportunities, and workshops, too.
Notable confirmed speakers include Bill Tai — a venture capital investor known for his investments in Canva and Zoom — co-founder of Angry Birds, Peter Vesterbacka, and CEO of the Technology Council of Australia, Kate Pounder.
The festival runs from December 5th to 9th and will be held at various locations across Perth, Joondalup, and Fremantle.

The Innovation Showcase
The week’s highlight is the free Innovation Showcase on Tuesday, December 6th, at The Westin Perth. Open from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, the two-storey exhibition brings you the best in WA-developed technology innovations.
Startup Alley gives local founders a platform to showcase their businesses, while the Regional Innovation Showcase displays the capabilities of WA’s greater region. Perhaps the most exciting display is the Young Entrepreneurs Showcase. It provides 60 high-school-aged entrepreneurs with the opportunity to promote, showcase, and pitch their start-up idea to the public, investors, and the business community.
Before the doors swing open, the day kicks off with the annual West Tech Women — a free breakfast event celebrating women working in tech and innovation.
Cybotics AI Day
West Tech Fest kicks off on Monday, December 9th, with Cybotics AI Day at Joondalup Resort. This all-day conference will showcase the best emerging technology across cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, robotics, and data science, demonstrating opportunities for industries to adopt these technologies in their business.
Experts will share insights into various topics, including the responsibility of self-regulation, planning for future needs in cybersecurity training, and autonomous agriculture.
Attendees can fully immerse themselves in various innovations produced in WA and interact directly with the companies behind the technology.
West Tech Fest Conference
A full-day event on Wednesday, December 7th, the West Tech Fest Conference aims to stimulate conversations about how to diversify WA’s economy through investment and build support networks.
Several international guests will be speaking for the first time since 2019, giving their opinion on strengthening the state’s start-up and innovation scene — opinions that will help propel WA to become the fastest-growing innovation ecosystem in the country.
Over the course of the day, there is also plenty of time to network. The event includes a full-day conference, panel discussions, and closing drinks.
