Venetian Carousel for Elizabeth Quay

A hand crafted, $500,000 Venetian Carousel will be built at Elizabeth Quay.

The carousel is planned to be operating by the middle of December 2016. It’s being brought to Perth by local jewellers Rohan and Toni Milne and was fabricated in northern Italy.

The Elizabeth Quay Carousel will be installed next to V Burger Bar and operate for up to 40 adults or 43 children at a time for $5 per ride.

The carousel will be part of a wider program of activities to take place at the waterfront precinct throughout the summer, Planning Minister Donna Faragher said.

“The traditional fairground ride has a combination of horses and carriages and is entirely hand-painted, featuring Venetian artworks on its internal panels. It has been created by some of Europe’s best artisans and will be set to traditional and modern carousel music,” she said.

“The carousel will be a wonderful addition to Elizabeth Quay and will complement other activities including Christmas celebrations, summer markets and festivals.”

“Elizabeth Quay has had more than four million visitors since opening earlier this year and we are expecting strong crowds to enjoy its many attractions this summer,” Mrs Faragher said.
