The must-see shows for Fringe World Festival 2019.

Perhaps like me you started reviewing the Fringe Festival program and gave up after being overwhelmed by the choice. Don’t panic! Somehow I persevered and can now let you know my top eight tips.

Tim Ferguson: A Fast Life On Wheels

A comedy legend rips the lid off his extraordinary life. Tim Ferguson reveals the terrors and tears of his worldwide escapades. As for his lifelong battle with Multiple Sclerosis, Tim says, “I don’t ‘suffer’ MS. It suffers me.”

Sam Simmons: 26 Things You’ve Been Doing Wrong

Winner Best Comedy Edinburgh and Melbourne Festivals 2015. Are you sick of getting sand in your bathers at the beach? Got linty jeans? Don’t know how to eat a chicken wing in public? Bendy elbows getting you down? Does your face look all shit in the mirror? Or are you just really sick of spoons? Sam Simmons has all the answers for you. 26 life hacks to make your life infinitely better, and maybe if you’re lucky, inevitably question your own self-worth.

10,000 Decisions

Presented by American comedian Robyn Perkins. Perkins uses a series of hilarious personal anecdotes, family stories and neuroscience to come up with a well thought out decision for one anonymous audience member. This FRINGE WORLD debut is quirky, thought-provoking and fun, laced with a bit of science.

Cam Venn – Charles horse lays an egg

On a lonely space station one unlikely hero holds the fate of humanity in his hands. A surreal physical comedy, unlike anything you have ever seen.

Laser Kiwi

Laser Kiwi (NZ) combines high-calibre circus with unforgettable physical/sketch comedy. A wonderfully bizarre and thoroughly entertaining masterpiece. Full to the brim with innovation, you’ll never guess what’s coming next! After bringing their “Avant-garde, sometimes irreverent, sometimes naked extravaganza!” to Australia in 2018. These three award-winning Kiwi’s had such a great time they are coming back!

Circus’ Cision

Returning to FRINGE WORLD after a complete Sell out season in 2018. Welcome to Circus’Cision: Those that made the cut! A variety mash-up of circus superstars, Spiegeltent legends and the hottest acts of this year’s FRINGE WORLD. Presented by your favourite acrobats, the boys from Head First (creators of smash hit ELIXIR). With a rotating cast each night, different guest artists get to showcase their best, weirdest and most hilarious talents, backed up by the incredible acrobatics of HFA. WARNING: There will be naked acrobats, offensive language and late night shenanigans.

Rouge

Winner of Best Circus & Physical Theatre at the 2018 Adelaide Fringe Weeklies, with sold out shows and rave reviews across the board, Rouge is coming to Perth! A decadent blend of sensational acrobatics, operatic cabaret and tongue in cheek burlesque, Rouge is ‘circus for grown ups’.

The Little Death 

The darkest, funniest and most debauched kabarett club this side of Berlin! Hosted by the deliciously salacious, utterly hilarious, uber-award-winning Queen of Weimar punk Kabarett, Bernie Dieter. Fresh from a smash hit Edinburgh Festival season, join Bernie and her travelling family of misfits, miscreants and fantastic freaks for a hazy night of dangerously funny kabarett, breathtaking circus and fire-breathing sideshow at its most inappropriate, provocative and hilarious best.

And if that’s not enough you can always throw in a couple of the group stand up events.
