Latest Perth COVID-19 Update – no new local cases, however further 4 cases from India overnight.
In further positive news coming out of the lockdown, Premier Mark McGowan addressed the media this morning and announced that Western Australia has recorded no new community cases of COVID-19
However, there were however four new COVID-19 cases in hotel quarantine, and they were all people who had returned from India arriving from Perth on Saturday 24/4.
What is of concern to Mr McGowan is the number of travellers on the flight to Perth which is believed to have had 78 out of the 79 passengers from India. Mr McGowan believes there could be further positive cases to come from this specific flight.
The Premier said there were currently approximately 2,230 people in hotel quarantine.
The state has now recorded 990 cases of COVID-19, as of yesterday WA Health were monitoring 29 active cases of COVID-19 and 948 people have recovered from the virus in WA.
More to come.
