FIFO Workers from Granites gold mine

On top of Case 1022, WA Health is also dealing with 186 FIFO workers who have returned to WA from the Granites gold mine in the Northern Territory where a man who had been in hotel quarantine in Brisbane has also tested positive.

“We have the 186 people from the gold mine in the Northern Territory, they are all being progressively tested,” Mark McGowan said on 6PR Radio.

In positive news, none of these individuals has tested positive yet. If one was still to acquire the virus then WA Health contact tracing would also have to dive into contacts and locations of those people.

“So we’ve got a pretty big operation underway at the moment.” said Mr McGowan.

More to come as further announcements are made today.
