Last of COVID-19 restrictions ease.
Time to rip off those masks people, the time of COVID restrictions is (mostly) over.
As of 12.01am on Saturday measures in place since the last lockdown will be eased back.
So what refound freedoms are there to look forward to?
No masks
Masks were mandatory in hospitals, aged care, public transport and of course the footy.
But no more!
You will not need to wear a mask in events with over 1000 people from midnight on Saturday, or anywhere else but the airport.
Premier Mark McGowan said the lifting of restrictions was thanks to everyone.
“The return to pre-lockdown life is only possible because of the collective effort of all West Australians,” he said.
Capacity limits lift
The limit of 100 people per gathering will also lift and stadiums like Optus can go back to having full crowds.
Weddings and funerals will also be unrestricted once more.
Mr McGowan said he was pleased to be able to lift the restrictions.
“This is fantastic news for our community and businesses,” he said.
“It will mean Optus Stadium will again be able to operate at 100% capacity for the West Coast Eagles and the Adelaide Crows on Sunday.”
Importantly, people in aged care homes will also be allowed visitors again.
