1. Lake Clifton Thrombolites
Did you know: Lake Clifton is home to the largest thrombolite reef in the Southern Hemisphere.
Situated less than half an hour’s drive south of Mandurah you’ll find Lake Clifton and the Yalgorup National Park. There, you’ll see the largest thrombolite reef in the Southern Hemisphere – the living rock-like structures have formed on the edges of Lake Clifton, and are best viewed from the boardwalk.
After taking in the sights of the thrombolite reef go for a stroll with a 5km, 2 hours return walk trail that explores the eastern shoreline of Lake Clifton and is suitable for most ages and fitness levels.

2. Hotham Valley Steam Train
Winter in Peel means that the steam train season has started. Yes there are still steam trains.
Hotham Valley Railway’s Steam Ranger departs from Dwellingup, only 90 km south of Perth, for a 2 hour leisurely trip over the steepest, twistiest railway in WA. Allowing passengers to travel back in time to experience the freedom of rail travel in the style of years gone by.

3. White Water Rafting in Dwellingup
