Albany’s Wine Flight Wins Gourmet Traveller Wine Award

Brought to you by

Albany’s wine scene is taking off.

WA’s wine scene is turning orange with the recent announcement of Albany’s Oranje Tractor Wine scooping up the Best Additional Experience (Events) award at Australia’s Best Cellar Door Awards, hosted by Gourmet Traveller Wine.

Both industry and visitors have come on board the cellar door’s innovative wine-tasting Wine Flight experience of their organic trickle. The experience takes on a novel approach on general wine-tasting sessions with matching five wines with tasty morsels (local organic cheeses and other oeuvres) sourced from the farm on site.

Oranje Tractor Wine’s producer Murray Lincoln explained their decision behind creating their unique tasting experience, ” We decided to offer wine flights to do offer a different and immersive experience for our visitors. Our wines are paired with produce from our organic farm and the region which transports the wine to another place altogether.”

Oranje Tractor Wine’s flair doesn’t just stop with its wine pairings it has also won fans over with its vintage-laden Tasting Room and quirky display of antique furniture around its gardens.

The small boutique winery is no stranger to receiving the seal of approval as Prince Charles and Camilla visited the sustainable winery on their Australian royal tour in 2015.

Oranje Tractor Wine is part of the ever-growing Great Southern Wine Region, one of the largest wine regions in the world. The regions’ climate is similar to other premium wine producing regions including France’s Bordeaux, Champagne, Alsace, and most of Germany so you can expect a decent trickle.
