For the first time ever, AWESOME has put on its debut event, the AWESOME Armadale Kids’ Festival Hub.

The much-anticipated event will make its way to Kelmscott Hall on September 23rd and 24th and feature an array of performances, captivating storytelling sessions, and the opportunity for some creative arts and crafts. Ideal for families and children aged 0-12 and accessible for kids with all abilities, this will be a weekend full of fun for the entire family.

As the seasons shift, the month of September at Raeburn Orchards brings the spectacle of spring blossoms, gracing the backdrop of Perth Hills. Travel to Raeburn Orchards to see the ethereal white and pink blossoms that will only stick around for the month of September. Make it a full-day affair with your family and friends, and wander through the activities spanning the entire orchards. There’s a nominal entrance fee of $5.00 while children under 12 can join the festivities free of charge. Bring your furry friend, grab a coffee from Coffee@TheShed, and dig into some food offerings from their food trucks. Kids will have a great day with face painting sessions, playing with cute cuddly friends in the animal farm, or playing with their selection of giant games.

The spring blossoms are typically in bloom from September 1st to 30th but it’s best to keep up-to-date on their Instagram or Facebook as ever-changing weather patterns can sway these delicate blooms.

Grab Some Goodies At A Weekend Market

Bedfordale Bush Markets will run on Saturday, September 9th and sees home-grown produce, food stalls, art, craft, and entertainment. Each Bedfordale Bush Market is themed and September’s theme is Djilba, the Noongar seasonal calendar.

Or if you fancy a Sunday market, Roleystone Spring Markets is a quarterly market where you can find a fusion of activities, accompanied by an assembly of local vendors and artisans. There will be seasonal delights, from fresh produce to unique wares and a selection of culinary offerings as well. Why not pick up something for your coffee table, or some chilli oil to spice up your cooking at home?

If you haven’t checked out Araluen Botanic Park, now is the perfect time to go. With Spring upon us, there’s no better way to walk around the magical garden of colour boasting an excess of 150,000 tulips in full bloom alongside Camellias, Azaleas, and Grand Magnolia Trees. 

Spring also brings the beauty of Yates Springtime at Araluen, where the gardens undergo a stunning transformation, converting into their own festival. Visitors of all ages may satisfy their hunger with a choice of pop-up food vendors located across the park during the tulip festival. Their augmented reality filters will transport you into a digital realm where you can partake in an adventure through an enchanted land, capturing frogs, and pursuing fairies. 

From Wednesday through to the weekend, families can hop aboard the Araluen Train for $5 per person, per ride.
