From where you’d rather be right now ? Introducing #CossiesBeach in the @cocoskeelingislands, which ranks as number 1 in the @101BestBeachesAU list, and after checking out this video, we can see why! With over 11,761 beaches in Australia, it’s a pretty tough call to narrow them down to the top 101, but beach expert Brad Farmer stepped up to the challenge and has released his favourite coastal picks today. Other beaches in the Top 10 include Nudey Beach at @fitzroyisland, Moonee Beach in @visitnsw and Turquoise Bay at @australiascoralcoast.Advertisement
The 101bestbeaches.com rankings were announced by researcher Brad Farmer and Federal Minister for Territories Fiona Nash. The number one ranking was the result of researcher Brad Farmer spending five months travelling the country’s coastlines and consulting with University of Sydney’s director of coastal studies unit Professor Andy Short.
Farmer spent 5 obviously very gruelling and hard months travelling the country’s coastlines and consulting with University of Sydney’s director of coastal studies unit Professor Andy Short to create these results.
And Farmer’s summary of Cossies Beach
“It’s as near to perfect as a beach can be.”
Also not to be forgotten is Exmouth’s Turquoise Bay, which came in at number four – giving WA two top five beaches in Australia – winning!
Cocos Islands – Welcome to Paradise!
How to get to Cossies Beach?
It’s definitely not as cheap as a Bali holiday. Virgin Australia travels to Cocos Islands from Perth on Tuesdays and Saturdays from $530 one way.
