Upperhand Burgers
When a restaurant combines burgers and bubble tea, you know it’s on the road to success – and that’s definitely the case for Upperhand Burgers in Swanbourne.
Yes, they have some OG fries on offer ($4 small, $6 large, $10 family), but they also have some cranking pimped up versions too. Peking duck fries ($16 with Chinese BBQ duck and house sticky Peking sauce), cheesy bacon fries ($12 with American cheese sauce and crispy streaky bacon pieces), pulled jackfruit fries ($12 with house BBQ jackfruit and vegan house sauce) and chilli cheese fries ($14 with house chilli and American cheese sauce). Order up a storm and then relax in their courtyard.

Filos & Yiros
A little Greek eats never hurt nobody, and that is so the case at Brika’s takeaway spot, Filos & Yiros.
Yes, they do yiros with fries in them, but they also are a strong contender for some of Perth’s best potatoes in general. Get them plain ($9) or loaded up with feta ($12), chicken ($14), pork ($15) or lamb ($15).
The meatier options are really excellent, but it’s the feta that has us swooning with each and every bite. After all, potato and cheese is a match made in heaven!
