Get ready to say Bonjour to La Lune, the newest bistro and bar addition to the already buzzing East Fremantle scene.

The charming Parisienne-style cafe, bar and bistro from owners Sam Davies and Helen Pow (the team behind Freo’s Assembly Yard) is stepping onto the foodie scene this September with the promise of wine carafes and frites on a sunny street-front terrace reminiscent of fine Euro-summer holidays.

What to expect at La Lune

The vibe is relaxed and casual, despite the splashes of marble and gold, with a selection of all-day eats and drinks inspired by other dreamy New York French-style neighbourhood bistro’s. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, drinks – take your pick. Essentially, you can pop in for a coffee on your morning stroll or settle in for a few casual arvo sunset beverages after a day of exploring Fremantle.

The menu is inspired by French classics, but will take on a slightly lighter side than your traditionally decadent fair with a big focus on Western Australian produce and seasonality. On the wine side of things (because we’re not dropping into a Parisienne-style bar without getting a glass of wine) the list will be predominantly French or made with French grapes, so you can transport yourself to the streets of Paris with glass in hand.

The team behind the new joint will be made up of Consultant Executive Chef Jesse Blake (Cumulus Inc., Supernormal, Petition at State Buildings and Eye Heart Rabbit) and local Head Chef Josh Chen (Petition at State Buildings and Gage Roads Fremantle) alongside Sarah Davis (formerly at Madalena’s) leading front of house.

La Lune is set to open on George Street in Fremantle this September, so keep your eyes across their socials for any updates.
